Patricia Barone won the 2025 Faulkner-Wisdom Award for Fiction. Her short novel, The Wind was published by New Rivers press. She received a Lake Superior Contemporary Writers Award for a short story. Her short stories have appeared in books and anthologies such as Bless Me Father, Plume/Penguin; Learning Language, Prentice Hall; American Voices: Webs of Diversity, Prentice/Merrill; Becoming a Teacher in the New Society, Peter Lang; Creativity and Constraint, Daring to Repair and View From The Bed/ View From The Bedside, Wising Up Press; and in the periodicals, West Wind Review and American Writing.
Her most recent collection of poetry is Future Rounds the Curve from Blue Light Press. Her other collections are The Music of this Ruin from Taj Mahal Review/ Cyberwit, Your Funny, Funny Face and The Scent of Water, with Blue Light Press, and Handmade Paper, with New Rivers Press. She received a Loft-McKnight Award of Distinction in poetry in Things That Fall from the Sky, chosen by Marilyn Hacker; and a Minnesota State Arts Board Career Opportunity Grant to study with the Irish poet Eavan Boland.
Her poetry has been anthologized most recently in Flip Sides, Wising Up Press and Rocked by the Waters, poems of motherhood, by Nodin Press. Other anthologies include Inspired by Tagore, a SAMPAD (south Asian arts) anthology, The British Council of India.
